The Gazette and KKTV have scheduled a Community Conversation on this subject. Note that Community Conversations are a series of public forums convened on important issues of the day for Colorado Springs. Past conversations have focused on homelessness, affordable housing, marijuana, veterans' health care and political candidates, among others.
The event planners have assembled a panel of experts on all sides of the bike-lane issue to answer the public’s questions, and to better educate attendees and the community on the best way forward for bikes.
The forum will be at 6 p.m. Feb. 25 at Studio Bee in the Pikes Peak Center. To get more details about this event, be sure to go to the Facebook page that Bike Colorado Springs has set up.
Please note that all questions will have to be submitted in advance on the Gazette website or in writing at the entrance to the debate. Please take into mind the need for thoughtful questions submitted in advance. It will be good if we cyclists are portrayed as caring, thoughtful community members, ones who also share the road not only on bicycles, but also as vehicle drivers.
The sponsors will livestream the forum on the Gazette’s website and on KKTV's website.
