The Labor Day Lift-Off Bike Ride and Breakfast is September 4. Be sure to RSVP for this extremely popular ride. We take a leisurely route to Memorial Park and watch the balloons lift off then head to Patty Jewett Golf Course for a scrumptious brunch and more balloon watching. More details on Meetup.
CDOT will host a Midland Trail Grand Opening in mid-September (watch for announcements). Yes it is true! After years in the making, the new Midland trail under I-25 from America the Beautiful Park will soon be available to trail users. CDOT wants to celebrate with us. I know I’ll be there!
The Tour de Hanover, a ride out on the gently rolling to flat terrain southeast of Colorado Springs, set for September 10. It is a 44-mile route, with 4 rest stops (one of them is a volunteer fire department pancake breakfast!). See details on Meetup.
Our last CLUB MEETING of the year will be held October 3 at 6 p.m., location TBD. Don’t miss this meeting, as we’ll have an update on the state of cycling in Colorado Springs with Kate Brady (or another city employee), and important news about the November election for CSCC board members.
Finally, the Progressive Dinner Ride will take place on October 15. This year, we are starting way up north into Briargate. This takes the place of the Sunday Social Ride, and we start at noon; it’s a 9 mile route (one way) no major hills, and we will go as a single ride. This is a potluck affair, and we will have stops for appetizers and salads, main dishes, and desserts. RSVP and let the hosts know what you are bringing. All the details are on Meetup.
Have fun, be safe, and COME ALONG FOR THE RIDE!
